Job summary

Waterview Hills Campus in North Salem, part of Salem Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare, is seeking a Housekeeping Aide for a full-time role with excellent benefits. Starting with Aetna health insurance after hire at no cost to the employee, this position supports high-quality resident care in a beautiful Westchester setting.

The duties include cleaning resident areas and baths, handling laundry, stocking supplies, and ensuring clean, safe environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Housekeeping/Laundry experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be flexible with hours including weekends and holidays.
• Covid-19 vaccinations encouraged but not mandated.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service resident areas, baths, and corridors.
• Clean and disinfect beds, chairs, and equipment.
• Handle laundry and linen processing; maintain supplies.
• Dust and polish surfaces; mop and vacuum floors.
• Maintain clean storage areas and privacy for residents.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures.

Housekeeping Aide Summary

• The Housekeeping Aide is responsible to carry out the duties of either Housekeeping and/or Laundry Departments which include but are not limited to the processing of all linen, Residents personal clothes and/or cleaning of assigned areas.
• Housekeeping Aide will clean and service resident areas, baths, laboratories, educational facilities, corridors, utility rooms and beds.
• Dust and damp floors, dust furniture and equipment, cleans windowsills, empties wastebaskets, arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Scours and polishes bathtubs, sinks, mirrors and similar fixtures.
• Replenishes supplies of disinfectants, soaps and towels.
• Polishes any metal objects.
• Clean and polish glass panels in doors and partitions.
• Keep storage areas in good order and arrange supplies.
• Clean and disinfect beds, bed stands, utensils, sterilizers and wheelchairs.
• Empties waste baskets, cleans and relines them.
• Vacuums carpets, shampoos upholstered furniture, and dusts venetian blinds.
• Remove drapery and cubical curtains when needed.
• Clean shower stalls, baths, water fountains, chute doors, fire extinguishers and stationary ice containers.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Housekeeping services experience preferred but not required.
• Must have a working knowledge of housekeeping and laundry techniques
• Must be flexible with hours and available to work on some weekends and holidays as required.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible
