Job summary

The Recovery Village Umatilla is seeking a Housekeeping Attendant to help maintain a clean, comfortable treatment facility. You will refresh floors, clean common areas, manage linen supplies, and support patient rooms and public spaces to create a positive healing environment.

Located in the United States, this full-time on-site role emphasizes infection prevention, safety protocols, teamwork, and reliable performance in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred, particularly in healthcare or similar setting; strong work ethic and willingness to learn valued.
• Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment, including vacuums, mops, and floor-care equipment, or learn to use it safely.
• Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, cleaning protocols, infection prevention, universal precautions, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Professional communication skills and a commitment to patient confidentiality, workplace safety, and organizational policies.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, and moving furniture.
• Flexibility to respond to changing assignments and maintain a calm, professional approach in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas according to established schedules and facility standards.
• Scrub, strip, and refinish hard-surface floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets; and remove carpet spots as needed.
• Maintain clean, comfortable patient rooms and welcoming public spaces.
• Manage and distribute linen supplies and assist with room or area setups for special functions.
• Respond to spills and other immediate cleaning needs while following established safety and infection-control procedures.
• Keep housekeeping equipment, tools, and supplies clean and in good working condition.
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or facility issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with team members, adapt to changing priorities, and help maintain a respectful, professional environment.

As a Housekeeping Attendant, you’ll play an important role in maintaining the cleanliness, comfort, and appearance of our treatment facility.
