Job summary

Mason City YMCA is seeking a part-time custodian to maintain high sanitary standards across locker rooms, fitness areas, and offices. The role includes cleaning floors, restrooms, and common spaces, restocking supplies, and assisting with event setup.

You will ensure safety and cleanliness throughout your shift while providing friendly service to members and guests. The custodian will work with supervision and fellow staff to maintain a welcoming, safe environment and cover flexible hours

• Cleans and sanitizes locker rooms, restrooms, fitness areas, offices and common spaces.
• Maintains a clean, safe facility and notices areas needing attention.
• Follows safety procedures for chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean locker rooms, steam rooms, saunas, restrooms, fitness areas, offices and common spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and sanitize surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling; restock supplies like soap and paper towels.
• Maintain gym equipment cleanliness and wellness areas.
• Setup and take down rooms for programs or events; perform minor maintenance and reporting.
• Monitor building safety and report hazards.

# Housekeeping## Housekeeping##### Overview**Job Summary**The custodian performs several specialized tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of the floors, carpet, walls, windows, sidewalks, lights and vents. The position is also responsible for moving furniture and equipment as requested. The custodian maintains the highest possible sanitary standards in the locker rooms and in other assigned areas. The custodian maintains safety conditions within the assigned shift.
