Job summary

Sapphire Nursing at Wappingers is seeking a dedicated cleaner to perform routine cleaning and sanitation in our skilled nursing facility located in Dutchess County, NY. The role focuses on floors, walls, toilets, and patient areas while ensuring safety and adherence to health standards.

The successful candidate will follow area work assignments, operate cleaning equipment, and assist with moving and rearranging spaces as needed. Background checks and vaccine compliance are required.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions and assemble cleaning supplies and equipment for transport to area.
• Sweep, mop and wash floors as required.
• Wash walls, ceilings, doors, frames and windows by hand or with cleaning solutions.
• Remove trash and clean waste containers.
• Clean and change mattresses; wash sinks and plumbing fixtures.
• Clean and disinfect beds, wheelchairs, and other equipment.
• Dust furniture, shelves and high surfaces; clean lighting fixtures.
• Move furniture to access rooms and areas for cleaning.
• Replenish supplies as needed and perform related tasks.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Receives instructions as to area and specific work assignments, assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for transporting to the designated area. Follow work flow of assigned area.
• Sweeps, mops and wet washes floors.
• Washes walls and trims, ceilings and inside windows by hand; using water, cleaning solutions, sponge and cloths.
• Gathers and disposes of trash; washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers.
• Clean and change mattresses.
• Wash doors and door frames.
• Wash elevator doors, walls and trim.
• Clean air outlet and return grilles.
• Vacuum rugs and spot clean where necessary.
• Dust desks, tables, chairs, shelves, cabinets, sills, ledges, etc.
• Clean toilets, urinals and mirrors, dust and wax handrails and other woodwork. Wash sinks and other plumbing fixtures.
• Clean and disinfect beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.
• Clean louver drapes.
• Sweep, mop and wax as necessary; polishes floors using buffing machine.
• Move furniture to clean rooms and areas.
• Clean lighting fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and other high places using a ladder when necessary.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• Perform all related work as assigned.
