Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Columbus Airport is seeking a full-time Housekeeper in Columbus, OH. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms, replenishing amenities, and reporting maintenance needs in accordance with the hotel’s standards.

Expect to work flexible hours with a focus on guest satisfaction and a clean, safe environment. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred; basic laundry equipment knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school; prior housekeeping/hotel experience preferred.
• Equipment/Computer Expertise: Prior knowledge of operating laundry room dryers and washers desired but not required.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop and reach; lift up to 40 lbs; tolerate temperature extremes; stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Understand hotel operating procedures and standards.
• Clean and sanitize guest rooms, replenish supplies and amenities, and report rooms ready for sale to front desk.
• Dust and clean furnishings, maintain supplies and cleaning cart, and respond to guest requests promptly.
• Ensure uniform and nametag are worn; follow hotel policies and emergency procedures.
• Assist with laundry and public area cleaning; perform other duties as assigned.

What to expect as a Housekeeper:

• Have a good understanding of all of hotels operating procedures;
• Be knowledgeable of rooms types and standards for supplies;
• Check the general condition of the room and notify the Housekeeping Supervisor of any malfunction or damage;
• Clean and sanitize guest rooms, replenish supplies and amenities, inspect and report rooms ready for sale to the front desk all in accordance with hotel’s training and standards;
• Dust and clean all furnishings in guest room including the television, desk, desk chair, desk lamp/shade, air conditioner unit, head boards, night stand, wall picture, wall lamp/shade and window ledge;
• Maintain cleaning supplies and the cleaning cart in safe, organized and presentable fashion;
• Ensure prompt and systematic servicing of all guest requests;
• Promote goodwill by being courteous, friendly and helpful to guests, managers and all other associates;
• Organization and thoroughness: preparing bedrooms in the specified length of time whilst respecting internal hotel procedures;
• No service rooms must be approved by inspector or front desk;
• Must wear uniform and nametag;
• Must follow all policies and emergency procedures of the hotel;
• Discretion: not disturbing guests
• Laundry and public area cleaning.
• Must maintain personal cleanliness.
• Willing to work flexible hours.

• Deep clean when assigned.
• Other Duties and Responsibilities as may be designated.

  • Must tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Must tolerate prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Work Environment: Interacting with co-workers, customers, working with cleaning chemicals and vacuum cleaners/brooms.
