Job summary

Silver Birch Living in Muncie, IN, is seeking a Housekeeper to join its Environmental Services Team. You will help keep the community clean, safe and welcoming for residents who call it home.

Your work ensures residents feel comfortable, cared for, and at ease every day. Responsibilities include cleaning common areas and resident rooms, following schedules, respecting privacy, and safely handling cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is helpful.
• Housekeeping or cleaning experience is a plus.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work.
• Friendly, respectful, and able to work independently or with others.
• Willingness to work some weekends, evenings, or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain community areas such as hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, and resident rooms.
• Follow daily cleaning schedules and complete assigned tasks each shift.
• Respect resident privacy, always knocking before entering rooms.
• Use cleaning supplies safely and follow proper procedures for chemicals.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish to keep spaces neat and sanitary.
• Clean bathrooms, mirrors, windows, and light fixtures.
• Change bed linens and make beds as needed.
• Collect and deliver resident laundry in a timely manner.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to your supervisor.
• Restock and organize cleaning supplies at the end of your shift.
