Summary of Job Duties:

This position is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Housekeeper is responsible for general cleaning in office buildings, resident halls, or other areas, operating laundry machines, and training others in laundry operations. This position is classified as essential personnel and may require overtime based on departmental needs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma/GED

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment operation.
• Ability to follow instructions, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in using cleaning supplies and maintaining equipment.
• Strong customer service attitude and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and establish priorities.
• Physical capability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods.
• Awareness of safety compliance and accountability for assigned tasks.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of housekeeping/janitorial experience.

Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

• Empty waste receptacles and replace waste liners.
• Sweeps, mops, and buffs floors.
• Vacuums and shampoo rugs.
• Strips and refinishes floors, as needed.
• Cleans bathroom fixtures, mirrors, stalls, toilets, showers, vents, and stocks bathroom supplies.
• Clean areas requiring special cleaning methods (patient beds, exam tables, IV poles, wheelchairs, carts, surgical lighting) using specific cleansers and sterilized equipment.
• Transport and send dirty linens and towels to laundry.
• Disposal and transport of solid waste.
• Clean surfaces (seating, tables, desks, sinks, doors, dispensers, water fountains, vents, bedside tables, IV poles, light switches, floors, walls, windows).
• Clean restrooms (faucets, sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, partitions, receptacles).
• Serve as liaison between customers, patients, nurses, researchers, and students.
• Participate in internal activities and training as required or suggested.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
