Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Extended Care, part of the Barnes-Jewish Hospital system in Clayton, MO, is seeking a housekeeping professional. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients and residents, with duties including discharge cleaning and routine care in inpatient and public areas.

Multiple shifts are available. The position supports a Magnet Hospital standard and integration within the BJEC team under BJC HealthCare’s umbrella of care and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience: <2 years.
• Preferred: an associate's degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs discharge cleaning process in inpatient rooms and prepares room for next admission.
• Performs routine cleaning activities in inpatient, public and common areas using prescribed, established cleaning process.
• Assumes supervisor responsibilities in the absence of supervisor.
• Keeps equipment clean and functional according to procedure and reports defects to supervisor.

Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is part of the Barnes-Jewish continuum of top ranked, compassionate care. It is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility, located at 401 Corporate Park Drive in Clayton, Missouri. Organized as a hospital-based facility, Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is under the direction of Barnes-Jewish Hospital medical staff with full support of laboratory and rehabilitation departments. Services range from minimal assistance to subacute post-hospital recovery. Our patients range from the young to the elderly, as well as post-trauma rehabilitation patients and those in need of hospice or respite care. The Housekeeping Department at BJEC is responsible for delivering a clean and safe environment of care for our patients and residents.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, using procedures as outlined by the hospital or service organization. During the absence of the supervisor, assumes those responsibilities in addition to regular assignments.
