Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Performs tasks related to the cleanliness and upkeep of IUHotel guest rooms and/or campus residential and guest spaces.
• May perform occasional duties in support of other needs, suchas laundry or general maintenance.
• Cleans and prepares hotel rooms for both arriving guests andfor intermediate in-stay service for existing guests daily.
• Ensures all furnishings in each guest rooms are free ofevidence of previous guest and that all items are in working orderand ready for new guests daily and meets the IU Hotel standard ofguest room inspection.

General Responsibilities

• Performs room inspections to ensure proper adherence tocleanliness standards.
• Completes cleaning tasks such as removing and changing dirtylinens; cleaning and disinfecting floors, hard surfaces, bathrooms,and fixtures; cleaning hallways, corridors, etc; removing trash;vacuuming, dusting, and restocking amenities, linens, and paperproducts.
• Completes cleaning log and reports status of rooms, escalatingissues as needed.
• Maintains preventive maintenance schedule, includingcoordination of deep cleaning, stain treatment, and replacement ofdamaged items.
• May perform general maintenance duties such as changing lightbulbs, as well as periodic deep cleaning.
• May provide directions and general information to IU visitorsand guests in the Biddle Hotel and residential spaces.
• May provide guidance to lower-level housekeepers or temporarystaff.
