Job summary

Day Kimball Health is seeking a Housekeeper II to join our Environmental Services Department in Putnam, Connecticut. This role supports hospital-wide cleanliness and sanitation, with shifts on 1st and 2nd like, weekends as needed, and a minimum of 32 hours per month.

The position requires operating cleaning equipment, general cleaning tasks, and adherence to procedures to maintain a safe, orderly facility. High school or GED is preferred, with prior cleaning experience in health or large

• Prior experience performing cleaning operations in a hospital, industrial or office setting.
• Minimum three months training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project work on floors using automatic floor equipment.
• Total patient room cleaning following established procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for relocation of offices, for cleaning and rearrangement.
• Trash removal and recycling. May collect hazardous/medical waste.
• Clean entrances and parking lot of debris and trash.
• Provides on-call coverage for weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Responds to emergency codes.

Housekeeper II Job Summary

According to established procedures cleans and services building areas. Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies, in and around hospital departments, and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.

Housekeeper II Education and Experience Requirements

Housekeeper II Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to operate cleaning devices, i.e., automatic floor equipment, buffers, commercial vacuums, mops and wringers, and other necessary tools, products and supplies.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
