Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is seeking a Housekeeper II to join our Environmental Services Department. This role performs cleaning and servicing of building areas to maintain a neat, sanitary hospital environment.

40 hours per week on 1st shift with every other weekend schedule. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED (preferred) and prior cleaning experience; ability to operate floor cleaning equipment; and proficiency in reading/writing English.

Housekeeper II Job Summary: According to established procedures cleans and services building areas. Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies, in and around hospital departments, and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition. Housekeeper II Job Responsibilities:

• Project work on floors using automatic floor equipment.
• Total patient room cleaning following established procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for relocation of offices, for cleaning and rearrangement.
• Trash removal and recycling. May collect hazardous/medical waste.
• Clean entrances and parking lot of debris and trash.
• Provides on-call coverage for weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Responds to emergency codes.

Housekeeper II Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience performing cleaning operations in a hospital, industrial or office setting, with minimum three months training preferred.

Housekeeper II Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to operate cleaning devices, i.e., automatic floor equipment, buffers, commercial vacuums, mops and wringers, and other necessary tools, products and supplies.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
