Housekeeper (Health Care)

The primary purpose of this position is to implement required housekeeping procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner, meeting all federal, state, and local requirements while providing a safe environment for our residents.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Maintains resident rooms by cleaning restrooms, walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, dusting, washing windows, removing trash, etc.
2. Moves furniture to dry and wet mop floors, using wet floor signs to mark wet floors.
3. Dusts and cleans all furniture and fixtures, except smoke detectors, in resident rooms, isolation rooms, nursing stations, day rooms, and shower rooms, using various cleaners and disinfectants.
4. Performs terminal cleaning of resident rooms upon transfer, discharge, or death.
5. Cleans both clean and soiled utility rooms.
6. Shines chrome doorplates and handles at least weekly or as needed.
7. Fills out maintenance request slips and submits them to the supervisor.
8. Maintains facility appearance by dusting and cleaning furniture, fixtures, walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, stairwells, mirrors, removing trash, and washing windows in main lobby, offices, lounges, beauty shop, dining rooms, storage rooms, restrooms, and hallways.
9. Cleans and polishes elevators as needed.
10. Performs emergency housekeeping in case of accidents.
11. Restocks and maintains a clear stockroom and housekeeping cart.

Education and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous long-term care experience is desirable.
