Job summary

Iredell Health System is seeking an Evening Housekeeper to clean and service all hospital areas and buildings. You will arrange furniture in an orderly fashion and maintain clean, stocked storage spaces.

The role requires ability to read and follow directions, physical stamina, and competence with cleaning equipment. Training is provided and previous hospital housekeeping is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write and follow written and oral directions.
• Cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
• Employees receive on-the-job training.
• Must know how to use cleaning equipment (i.e. vacuum cleaner).
• Ability to clean blood and body fluids.
• Ability to clean furniture, windows, restrooms, walls and dust mop and damp mop hard surface floors.
• Must be able to replenish all paper supplies, waste can liners and handle hazardous chemicals correctly.

Description

The Housekeeper cleans and services all areas of the hospital and all buildings owned by the hospital. They arrange furniture in an organized and orderly fashion. They keep all equipment and storage areas clean and organized. Has no access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.

Shift: Evenings with 5:00 PM start time, alternating weekends

Physical Requirements

• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include standing, bending, stooping, and sitting for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
