Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors in a sanitary manner.
• Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals and supplies per procedure.
• Assist visitors with directions and introductions to patients, families and visitors as needed.
• Report safety hazards and observe safety precautions at all times.
• Transport trash and hazardous waste to disposal areas and replenish supplies.
• Follow infection control practices including hand hygiene and standard precautions.
• Use and maintain equipment properly; work in shifts as assigned.
• Collaborate with staff to meet departmental objectives and maintain good relations.

We are hiring for a full-time day shift Housekeeper.

Job Summary

Under general direction, cleans all areas of the hospital by performing routine cleaning of patients rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors. Demonstrate ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.

Essential Functions

• Perform routine cleaning of the patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
• Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Assist visitors with directions whenever requested.
• Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
• Report safety hazards as appropriate.
• Observe safety precautions at all times.
• Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
• Replenish supplies.
• Follow all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
• Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties.
• Work day, evening or night shifts as assigned.
• Use and maintain equipment properly.
• Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations and interdepartmental objective.

Qualification

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Prior experience as a housekeeper, required.
