Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to maintain a clean, welcoming environment in our hospital. You will clean patient rooms, sanitize bathrooms, and help keep common areas orderly to support patient care and staff efficiency.

Responsibilities include disposing of trash, replenishing supplies, moving furniture for cleaning, and disinfecting isolation rooms according to policy. Weekend and holiday work may be required as part of rotating shifts.

• Moves furniture and other fixtures to dust and mop floor, resets furniture to present an attractive environment for patients and visitors.
• Washes walls behind sinks and commodes.
• Cleans and disinfects isolation rooms adhering to proper policy and procedures.
• Cleans and disinfects ancillary areas (Utility and linen rooms, nurse's stations, lounges, etc.).
• Cleans and disinfects water fountains, sinks in hallways, telephones, and chair rails.
• Vacuums carpets and damp dusts furniture weekly in office areas.
• Empties trash and uses hand sweeper on carpets daily.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.

Schedule

3PM-11PM. The schedule will typically work rotating days. This opportunity will primarily complete housekeeping duties in patient room discharge but may be pulled to any area of the hospital as need needed. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. May be pulled to other areas/shifts/days/ at the needs of the Hospital.
