Position: Housekeeper

Summary: The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing common areas, homes, apartments, suites, and healthcare units on campus, following a regular schedule under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent the campus positively, fostering respect and courtesy for residents and staff.
• Uphold the campus's Mission Statement.
• Maintain confidentiality of all medical or healthcare information per HIPAA standards.
• Remove trash from designated collection areas.
• Clean inhabited and vacant units to a 'like new' condition, including cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, walls, fixtures, and sills.
• Clean building areas to a 'like new' condition.
• Properly use cleaning chemicals and supplies.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Travel occasionally for training, education, emergency situations, and company functions.
• Know fire and safety procedures, including blood-borne pathogens.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uniform at all times.
• Complete work and cleaning orders promptly.
• Exercise waste control.
• Interact well during marketing tours and with prospective residents.
• Maintain excellent resident and employee relations, handle complaints constructively.
• Attend required employee in-services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Prerequisites:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification from a janitorial program preferred.
• Janitorial or maintenance experience required; two years preferred.
• Skills include working independently, professionalism, confidentiality, using hand tools, carts, and dollies.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, climb stairs, lift objects up to 25 pounds overhead, move objects of 40 pounds or more, and respond to emergencies.
