Job summary

Heron’s Key in Gig Harbor, WA, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper. The role features regular attendance, resident-focused cleaning, and help with laundry and meal-related areas. You will work Friday through Tuesday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with Wednesdays and Thursdays off and weekend work required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning of resident living areas: vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and trash removal.

• Disinfect medical equipment and restock supplies.
• Do resident laundry and assist Health Services and Food & Beverage as needed.
• Provide pet care, distribute water, and assist with restocking bathroom supplies.

TheHousekeeperprovides a variety of services and duties to ensure the sanitation, infection control and cleanliness of Heron’s Key’s facilities.

Pay Scale:$18.40- $23.58

Hours and Days Schedule is Friday through Tuesday 7:30am to 4:00 pm. Wednesdays and Thursdays off. Weekends are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Requires regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.
• Interacts with residents using superior customer service techniques.
• Provides general cleaning services of resident living areas such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, dusting and emptying trash.
• Makes beds and/or changes linens.
• Cleans large appliances: refrigerators, stoves/ovens, washers, dryers and microwaves.
• Disinfects medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, medicine carts, and beds.
• Performs laundry services for residents, Health Services and Food & Beverage departments using commercial laundry equipment.
• Irons, folds and returns clean laundry to residents, Health Services and Food & Beverage departments.
• Provides pet care for pets including walking, feeding and changing litter boxes.
• Restocks skilled nursing home rooms with bathroom supplies including toilet tissues, paper towels, hand soap, and gloves.
• Distribute drinking water to residents living in Penrose Harbor.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• High school degree or GED required.
• Three months’ housekeeping/laundry service experience preferred.
• Common sense and good judgment.
• Able to learn new procedures and techniques quickly.
• Able to work effectively and efficiently.
• Able to work both independently or in a team environment.
• Deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
• Able to keep confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers in English
