Description

The Housekeeper performs tasks that involve cleaning and servicing the building areas of the facility. They maintain the facility in an orderly, sanitary, and attractive condition under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor and assist in creating a positive environment for residents.

Qualifications

1. Thoroughly and consistently perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, stripping, washing, and shampooing floor surfaces.
2. Clean and dust furniture, closets, telephone areas, and vents.
3. Scour, polish, and sanitize sinks, counters, stainless steel surfaces, and waste receptacles.
4. Empty waste receptacles, clean solid waste containers, and transport medical waste to the outside storeroom as directed.
5. Use room deodorizer as necessary.
6. Ensure paper supplies are always available.
7. Wash windows and walls, which may involve removing draperies and rugs, as directed.
8. Gather and return needed cleaning supplies and equipment daily to support rooms, as directed.
9. Follow OSHA Standards for handling infectious waste.

Education and Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent. Experience as a housekeeper or janitor is preferred but not required.
