Job summary

UPMC in Washington seeks a dedicated hospital housekeeper to maintain a clean, welcoming area for patients and staff. You will support infection control and comfort in patient rooms and common areas.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to assist in different hospital areas as needed. A valid Act 34 clearance is required.

• Act 34 clearance or in process

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patients' rooms and bathrooms daily
• Disposes of trash and replenishes supplies according to proper procedures
• Moves furniture and resets area to present an attractive environment for patients and visitors
• Cleans and disinfects isolation rooms adhering to proper policy and procedures
• Cleans and disinfects water fountains, sinks, telephones, and chair rails
• Vacuums carpets and damp dusts furniture in office areas
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patients' rooms and bathrooms daily.
• Disposes of trash and replenishes supplies according to proper procedures.
• Moves furniture and other fixtures to dust and mop floor, resets furniture to present an attractive environment for patients and visitors.
• Washes walls behind sinks and commodes.
• Cleans and disinfects isolation rooms adhering to proper policy and procedures.
• Cleans and disinfects ancillary areas. (Utility and linen rooms, nurse's stations, lounges, etc.).
• Cleans and disinfects water fountains, sinks in hallways, telephones, and chair rails.
• Vacuums carpets and damp dusts furniture weekly in office areas.
• Empties trash and uses hand sweeper on carpets daily.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.

Schedule

3PM-11PM. The schedule will typically work rotating days. This opportunity will primarily complete housekeeping duties for patient discharge beds but may be pulled to any area of the hospital as need needed. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. May be pulled to other areas/shifts/days/ at the needs of the Hospital.
