Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated hospital housekeeping associate for nightly cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, restrooms, and common areas across the hospital. You will follow strict safety policies, dispose of waste properly, and maintain a sanitary environment for patients and visitors.

Responsibilities include moving and resets of furniture, cleaning walls behind sinks, disinfecting isolation and ancillary areas, and weekly carpet care.

Qualifications

• Act 34 clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patients' rooms and bathrooms daily.
• Disposes of trash and replenishes supplies according to procedures.
• Moves furniture and resets furniture to present an attractive environment for patients and visitors.
• Washes walls behind sinks and commodes.
• Cleans and disinfects isolation rooms adhering to policy and procedures.
• Cleans and disinfects ancillary areas (utility and linen rooms, nurse's stations, lounges).
• Cleans and disinfects water fountains, sinks in hallways, telephones, and chair rails.
• Vacuums carpets and damp dusts furniture weekly in office areas.
• Empties trash and uses hand sweeper on carpets daily.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
