Job summary

Erickson Senior Living at Avery Point, a gated continuing care retirement community near Richmond, VA, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper. All residents are on site, so no travel is involved.

The role runs 9:30am–6:00pm, full time with benefits, and offers a supportive environment with opportunities for growth and ongoing training.

You will clean resident homes and common areas, operate cleaning equipment, and help maintain a welcoming, safe campus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience cleaning in residential or commercial settings preferred.
• Ability to operate carpet and hard floor care equipment safely.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident homes in Independent Living or Nursing Home areas.
• Maintain campus cleanliness using specialized equipment.
• Clean public areas including bathrooms, lobbies, and classrooms.
• Assist with trash collection and disposal, replace liners.
• Maintain carpeted surfaces through extraction and vacuuming.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

Location: Avery Point by Erickson Senior Living
Compensation: $17/hr - $17.50/hr, based on experience.
Shift: 9:30am - 6:00pm

How You Will Make An Impact

• Cleaning resident’s homes in Independent Living or Resident Rooms in Nursing Home
• Maintaining cleanliness of the Community through the use of specialized equipment.
• Cleaning public bathrooms, including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories, fixtures
• Cleaning lobbies/living rooms including vacuuming, high and low dusting, de-cluttering, and removing trash, spot clean walls/windows/switches, baseboards, pictures, lights, HVAC vents.
• Cleaning classrooms, including dusting, vacuuming, white/chalkboards, tables/chairs
• Assisting with the collection, bagging, and disposal of trash, as well as replacing trashcan liners
• Maintaining carpeted surfaces, including extracting, interim cleaning, spotting, drying, and vacuuming.

What You Will Need

• Previous experience cleaning in a residential or commercial setting is ideal
• Ability to safely operate carpet care equipment, hard floor care equipment, trash removal equipment
• Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member
• Ability to safely operate Housekeeping vehicles
• Ability to demonstrate professional and responsive interactions with residents and their family members, staff, vendors, and each other
