Job summary

AGENCIA OCEAN is seeking a Housekeeper Assistant to support the Suite Attendant in maintaining pristine guest suites aboard our luxury cruise division in the United States. You will assist with cleaning, linen stock, pantry management and guest-facing service on embarkation and disembarkation days.

Qualifications include 1–3 years in room division, fluent English, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure aboard a ship.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist Suite Attendant with cleaning guest suites and staterooms.
  • Stock housekeeping pantry and manage inventory.
  • Transport linen and manage laundry drop-offs.
  • Vacuum, sweep, scrub floors; clean bathrooms and upholstery.
  • Assist guests with embarkation/disembarkation of luggage.
  • Follow USPH sanitation standards and company rules.
  • Maintain grooming, appearance and uniform per policy.
  • Communicate with guests clearly and inform supervisor of issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION
HOUSEKEEPER ASSISTANT (HOUSE ATTENDANT)

The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper Assistant is to assist the Suite Attendant in maintaining the cleanliness of all guest suites/staterooms in an assigned section.

  • Work in conjunction with the Suite Attendant.
  • Assist with various cleaning tasks. Including:
  • Responsibility of housekeeping pantry in assigned section for cleanliness, inventory management, and reporting work orders.
  • Stock linen on each floor including bringing all soiled linen to the designated laundry drop off location and carrying fresh linen to pantries for easy access.
  • Manage guest corridors by vacuuming, tidying and overall maintenance as needed.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the garbage processing area.
  • Possess familiarity with the onboard garbage separation system.
  • Vacuum, sweep and/or scrub floors, clean showers, tubs, sinks and toilet bowls.
  • Help with the cleaning of walls, ceiling, outside veranda, windows, draperies and upholstery.
  • Assist guests with luggage during embarkation and disembarkation.
  • Possess knowledge of USPH Sanitation Standards, and Rules and Regulations.
  • Ensure that personal grooming, appearance, hygiene and uniform are in accordance with company policy.
  • Communicate effectively and speak clearly to guests.
  • Inform supervisor promptly of all relevant matters.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with loading or provisions when required.
  • Attend any stand-by for USPH purposes.
  • Ensure confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Achieve the primary objectives of the position and comply with the above-mentioned accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with policies.
  • Project a favorable image of the company, promote its aims and objectives, and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all its areas and endeavors.
  • Always comply with the safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures, participating in all relevant meetings and training sessions.
  • Participate in all mandatory training without excuse.
  • Perform all other duties as requested by shipboard or shore side management.
Requisitos

Minimum of one to three years related experience in room division in luxury hotels and/or onboard luxury cruise line.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Possess ability to make decisions.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Must be cost and quality conscious.
  • Adhere to specific scheduled work hours yet be flexible if circumstances require it.
  • Work with international team members.
  • Perform assigned duties under pressure (time constraints).
