• Spot clean and shampoo carpets.
• Clean windows, chalkboards, and dry erase boards.
• Administer cleaning chemicals as instructed.
• Operate commercial cleaning machinery.
• Remove snow and ice from entrances.
• Assist with special projects and furniture installations.

Job Summary / Basic Function

Responsible for a variety of duties related to the cleaning of designated academic, residence halls, and administrative building areas as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash and recycling from all offices, classrooms, residence halls and lavatories, and move to designated pickup.
• Dust, wet mop, and wax all floors, hallways and stairways.
• Spot clean and shampoo carpet.
• Clean interior and exterior windows of buildings.
• Clean chalkboards, dry erase boards and board rails in assigned buildings.
• Administer chemicals for cleaning and disinfecting toilets, walls, floors, etc., as instructed and according to product labels.
• Operate commercial cleaning machinery for vacuuming, buffing, stripping, and shampooing surfaces.
• Remove snow and ice from building steps and entrance ways.
• Flexibly work all 3 shifts and act as emergency response personnel when required.
• Assist with special projects, removal and installation of furniture, and use of company vehicles as necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A thorough knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and products.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate personally using the English language.
• Must be trained in Blood borne Pathogens procedures.
• Must be flexible to work on all 3 shifts.
