Job summary

SUN Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated environmental services worker to maintain cleanliness and safety across the facility. You will respond to spot-clean requests and follow established protocols to protect patients and staff.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, care units, lobbies, and restrooms; processing waste; maintaining supplies; and reporting repairs while adhering to infection prevention practices. Flexibility with shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification required.
• Preferred: some college coursework or completed college.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of hospital areas including patient rooms, care units, offices, and corridors.
• Washes windows, walls, floors, beds, and furniture after patient discharge.
• Apply clean linen to disinfected patient beds and use appropriate chemicals.
• Transport trash and hazardous waste to disposal areas and replenish supplies.
• Report repairs to supervisor and follow infection prevention practices.
• Complete assignments timely and adhere to safety standards.

Position Summary:

Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the facility to meet state regulations. Responds to requests for spot cleaning areas to ensure personal safety of staff and patients. The individual will need to complete position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols within the appropriate time frame and must be flexible with his/her work schedule.

Position Responsibilities:

Clinical / Technical Skills (40% of performance review)

• Performs routine cleaning of hospital areas, to include, but are not limited to: patient rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways
• Washes windows, walls, floors, beds, furniture upon patient discharge.
• Applies clean linen on disinfected patient bed.
• Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Uses and maintains equipment properly.
• Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
• Replenishes supplies.
• Reports any furniture, fixtures, building, equipment repairs required to supervisor.
• Follows all infection prevention and control practices, including handwashing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
• Maintains set quality standard when performing job duties.
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as required
