Career Opportunities seeks a Housekeeper to prepare rooms for incoming students and maintain cleanliness in dormitory facilities in Charleston, SC. The role covers cleaning, disinfecting and restocking in line with schedules and safety policies.

The position is full-time with expectations of handling up to 20 rooms daily. Candidate must pass background checks and be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive motions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of housekeeping or custodial experience preferably in a dormitory hotel or institutional setting
• Familiarity with cleaning products and safe handling procedures
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs bending standing and performing repetitive motions
• Reliable attendance and ability to follow detailed instructions
• Must pass background screening and meet all FLETC access and conduct requirements

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms for incoming students
• Clean rooms after departure of outgoing students
• Clean and disinfect dormitory rooms restrooms and shared common areas
• Change bed linens restock toiletries and empty trash bins
• Make beds in occupied rooms if able to
• Vacuum mop dust and sanitize surfaces according to schedule
• Notify dorm clerks or supervisors of maintenance issues or supply needs
• Maintain supply carts follow assigned cleaning routes and adhere to safety protocols
• Do not move students personal items
• Leave notes if services cannot be performed due to items in the way
• Turn in reports as required by managers
• Full time employees are expected to clean up to 20 rooms per day
• Part time employees are expected to clean up 16 rooms per day

Schedule

Full Time regular scheduled hours will be 0730 1630 Emergency room turnovers may arise as determined by the dormitory forecast and would result in altered hours as scheduled by the manager Work schedules are determined by management and may be modified at any time based on business needs contractual obligations and operational requirements

• This position may require the operation of Company provided vehicles
• If operating Company provided vehicles maintaining a valid drivers license in good standing is a condition of employment
• If operating Company provided vehicles employee must comply with all Company vehicle use and safety policies as well as all applicable traffic laws
• If operating Company provided vehicles the Company may review your motor vehicle record MVR as permitted by law to verify eligibility to operate Company vehicles
• If operating Company provided vehicles you must immediately notify the Company if your drivers license is suspended revoked restricted expires or if your driving privileges otherwise change
• Must be eligible for DHS background investigation and suitability clearance
