Job summary

Good Shepherd Children & Family Services seeks a dedicated housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness of dining rooms, lobbies, hallways, bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, conference rooms, and offices. The role supports the organization’s mission by ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for children and families.

The position involves floor care, dusting, restocking, event setup, and participating in quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 months related experience preferred.
• Must be team oriented and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• All floor care includes dust mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, and draperies.
• Strips, waxes, and buffs floors.
• Cleans furniture including upholstered furniture, desktops, and tabletops.
• Cleans lobbies, lounges, restrooms, hallways, and stairways.
• Dusts furniture and high/low walls; washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork; washes windows and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies and replaces light bulbs.
• Observes and reports safety and maintenance deficiencies.
• Sets up cafeteria and events.
• Contributes to data collection and reporting for quality improvement and outcomes.

• Sets up cafeteria and events.
• Help the organization meet its quality improvement, evaluation, and reporting requirements by contributing to developing outcomes, participating in data collection, interpreting data, and applying it to improve practices and outcomes.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.
