Job summary

Royal Suites Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Galloway, NJ is seeking a full-time Housekeeper for a 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift, Monday through Friday with weekend availability.

The role reports to the Director of Environmental Services and focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable facility for residents. Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms and common areas, sanitizing surfaces, and replenishing supplies.

Qualifications

• High School or trade school diploma.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to use standard housekeeping equipment safely.
• The ability to lift 20-30 pounds repeatedly throughout shift.
• The ability to push/pull up to 60 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum rooms with carpeting and sweep/mop tile floors.
• Dust surfaces in resident rooms, furniture, windowsills, fixtures.
• Empty trash and maintain cleanliness in all areas.
• Clean bathrooms, sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
• Move furniture to access hard-to-reach areas.
• Change curtains and drapery as needed.
• Clean offices and common areas, including dining rooms.

Royal Suites Healthcare and Rehabilitation is a 186-bed skilled nursing facility located in Galloway, New Jersey and we are looking for a Full-time Housekeeper Monday-Friday 7a-3p, with weekend availability.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Report to the Director of Environmental Services. Perform various duties on an assigned shift to maintain the facility in a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable manner.

Housekeeping Resposibilities;

• Vacuum rooms with carpeting; sweep and mop tile floors.

• Dust all surfaces in resident rooms - furniture, bedframes, windowsills, light fixtures.

• Empty all trash bins and clean when necessary.

• Clean all bathroom sinks and toilet.

• Clean all mirrors in resident bathrooms.

• Move furniture to ensure cleanliness behind it.

• Flip mattresses of beds on unit as per monthly schedule.

• Change privacy curtains when needed.

• Change window drapery.

• Clean administrative offices, Board room, volunteer office, coffee shop, synagogue, beauty shop, basement offices, and other basement areas.

• Clean outside patio area.

• Replenish toilet paper, paper towels and liquid soap in all resident rooms and other bedrooms.

• Assist in special activity set ups.

• Report damaged and unusual conditions to Director of Environmental Services.

• Clean rooms as necessary.

• Clean dining room tables and chairs as necessary.

• Communicate with family members when needed as part of the continuing philosophy of providing the best possible care and customer service.

• Take initiative and be self-motivated.

• Support performance improvement initiatives.

Job Competency/Requirements:

• High School or Trade School diploma.

• Ability to read write and speak the English language required, knowledge of other language helpful.

• Ability to use standard housekeeping equipment following safety precautions. (e)

• The ability to clean and sanitize all assigned areas, (e)

• The ability to lift 10 to 15 pound buckets of water from the floor to the sink a minimum of 15 times a day. (e)

• The ability to lift trash or soiled linen, weighing 20 to 30 pounds. a minimum of 20 times a day. (e)

• The ability to push a 60 pound trash or linen hamper safely in and out of elevators and dawn hallways. (e)

• The ability to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly. (e)

• Must be able to respond to the paging system in the appropriate manner.

• Effective oral end written communication skills. (e)

• The ability to deal effectively and professionally with emotional residents, visitors or family members. (e)

• The ability to relate to geriatric, infirm and sub-acute population. (e)
