Job summary

Tennessee State Veterans' Home in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for a full-time day shift (7a-3p) with alternating weekends. Duties include cleaning resident rooms, offices, and common areas, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and bathroom sanitation.

Must follow safety procedures with cleaning chemicals and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff. Qualified candidates have prior healthcare housekeeping experience and can work independently, adjusting schedules

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping / cleaning experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and reschedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of residents or nursing staff.
• Must be able to read and understand Standard English and be able to work with standard cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping in facility offices, resident rooms and common areas.
• Sweep and/or mop floors, dust furniture, clean walls, and equipment as needed.
• Clean resident bathrooms and other areas; work with cleaning chemicals daily.
• Complete special projects as assigned.

Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN is currently looking for a Housekeeper – Full Time/day shift – 7a-3p with alternating weekends required.

We are currently looking for a housekeeper who will be responsible for performing day-to-day housekeeping functions in facility offices, resident rooms and common areas and special projects as assigned. These duties include sweeping and/or mopping floors, dusting furniture, cleaning walls, furniture, and equipment as needed, cleaning resident bathrooms, etc. You will be working with chemicals and cleaners on a daily basis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Previous housekeeping / cleaning experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Must be able to work independently and reschedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of residents or nursing staff. Must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, families, visitors and co-workers. Must be able to read and understand Standard English and be able to work with standard cleaning chemicals.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalent preferred and previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred
