Job Overview

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas, including performing cleaning, laundry, and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, pleasant environment for residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning Tasks:
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all areas.
  • Sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and bedrooms.
  • Change bed linens and make beds.
  • Wash windows and mirrors as needed.
  • Clean floors, carpets, rugs, and furniture.
• Laundry and Linen Management:
  • Wash, dry, fold, and iron laundry as needed.
  • Ensure linens are cleaned and replaced.
  • Organize laundry and linens efficiently.
• Organization:
  • Keep rooms, hallways, and common areas organized and presentable.
  • Replenish supplies as needed.
• Waste Management:
  • Empty trash cans and recycle items appropriately.
• Safety and Maintenance:
  • Use cleaning products safely and report maintenance issues.
• Guest/Resident Interaction:
  • Greet and assist residents and guests professionally.
  • Respond to special requests.

Qualifications

• Experience: Preferred but not required.
• Skills:
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Physical stamina for repetitive tasks.
  • Familiarity with cleaning tools and products.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment

• Long-term care facility setting.
• Requires standing, bending, lifting, and working with chemicals.
