Job summary

Savant Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to keep resident rooms, common areas, and facility spaces clean and well-maintained. You will follow infection control guidelines and collaborate with staff to prioritize tasks while upholding resident privacy.

You will perform routine cleaning, respond to inquiries courteously, and support with additional duties as needed in a compassionate senior living environment.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance required.
• First Aid/ CPR Certification preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous housekeeping or custodial work, healthcare or senior living setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and changing bed linens.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in common areas such as lounges, dining areas, hallways, and restrooms.
• Perform regular cleaning tasks: emptying trash, cleaning windows, polishing surfaces.
• Follow safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Ensure compliance with infection control procedures to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Assist in monitoring and replenishing housekeeping supplies.
• Coordinate cleaning schedules with staff and prioritize tasks.
• Uphold resident privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
• May need to move furniture to clean designated areas.
• Support with additional duties as needed.

Job description

As a Housekeeper at our Assisted Living Facility, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of resident rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces. Your attention to detail, organization, and dedication to cleanliness will contribute to the well-being of and satisfaction of our residents. This position will report to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to all components of the above position summary the following “Essential Duties and Responsibilities” are essential to successful performance in this position

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and changing bed linens.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in common areas such as lounges, dining areas, hallways, and restrooms.

• Follow established protocols and safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Assist in monitoring and replenishing housekeeping supplies, including toiletries, towels, and cleaning products.
• Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Uphold the privacy and confidentiality of residents’ personal belongings and information.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to resident inquiries or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
• May need to move furniture to ensure cleanliness of designated areas.
• Support with additional duties as needed.

• The incumbent in this position does not have any direct supervision.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

• At least 18 years of age.
• Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.
• Any special licenses, certifications, and certificates (First Aid/ CPR Certified)
• Special skills needed to meet client needs [California Code of Regulations Sections: 85065(f)/87411(g)]
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work, preferably in health care or senior living setting.
