Job summary

Towne Centre Assisted Living in Merrillville, IN is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will perform housekeeping tasks with attention to detail and compassion, supporting resident comfort and health on a daily basis.

Responsibilities include cleaning rooms and common areas, laundering linens, restocking supplies, and adhering to infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in housekeeping or custodial roles, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
• Understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful when interacting with elderly residents.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident's rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and administrative offices according to facilities standards.
• Dust, mop, vacuum, and disinfect all assigned areas on routine and as-needed basis.
• Empty Trash containers and replace liners.
• Launder bed linens, towels, and residents' personal laundry as needed.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, and cleaning agent.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
• Observe and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual resident behavior.
• Handle resident's belongings with respect and confidentiality.
• Assist in preparing rooms for new residents.
• Collaborate with nursing and care staff to ensure resident needs are being met.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
