Job summary

Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taylorsville, NC is seeking dedicated PRN Housekeepers to join our Environmental Services team.

You will maintain clean, safe spaces for residents, support infection prevention, and collaborate with nursing and maintenance.

No healthcare experience required; prior housekeeping, hotel, custodial work welcome. Flexible PRN shifts based on facility needs.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, hospitality, janitorial, custodial, or environmental services experience preferred – not required.
• Dependable, reliable, and hardworking individuals with attention to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work PRN shifts based on facility needs.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and sanitized resident rooms, bathrooms, halls, and common areas.
• Support infection prevention with proper cleaning and safety procedures.
• Follow schedules and complete assigned dusting, mopping, and restocking tasks.
• Collaborate with nursing and maintenance to ensure a welcoming facility.
• Report safety or sanitation issues to the appropriate team member.

We welcome applicants with experience in housekeeping, hotels, hospitality, janitorial services, custodial work, cleaning services, and environmental services. Previous healthcare experience is NOT required!

What You'll Do – Help Keep Our Residents Safe & Comfortable!

As a PRN Housekeeper, you will help maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of our skilled nursing facility.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain Clean & Comfortable Spaces: Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.

• Support Infection Prevention: Follow proper cleaning, disinfection, sanitation, and safety procedures.

• Keep Our Facility Looking Its Best: Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect, and maintain assigned areas.

• Assist With Room Preparation: Perform routine resident room cleaning and discharge cleaning according to facility standards.

• Maintain Supplies: Restock housekeeping carts, cleaning products, and necessary supplies.

• Follow Cleaning Schedules: Complete assigned duties and special cleaning projects as needed.

• Promote a Safe Environment: Properly dispose of trash and waste while following safety guidelines.

• Work as a Team: Collaborate with nursing, maintenance, and other departments to maintain a clean and welcoming facility.

• Report Concerns: Notify appropriate team members of maintenance, safety, or sanitation issues.

What We're Looking For

• Previous Housekeeping, Hospitality, Janitorial, Custodial, or Environmental Services Experience Preferred – NOT Required!
