Overview

Otterbein has an employment opportunity for a Housekeeper. The Housekeepers provide a clean, safe environment for residents, guests, and employees. They enhance the lives and nurture the growth of older persons by providing high-quality service in a cheerful, timely manner and by communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with others to attain goals. Pay Rate: $14.00 - $15.00 an hour, based on experience

Position Details: PRN position. The position will pick up shifts as needed to cover when our housekeepers are off. Hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Saturday, as shifts are available.

Responsibilities:

1. Cleans furnishings, fixtures, ledges, windows, heating/cooling units, etc., by washing, dusting, or polishing as scheduled or assigned.
2. Cleans floors by sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, or damp/wet mopping as scheduled or assigned.
3. Empties trash, cleans trash receptacles, and transports trash to proper area.
4. Reports burned out light bulbs, broken or defective equipment, other maintenance concerns, pest control problems, and other unsafe or unsanitary conditions to supervisor.
5. Interacts positively with residents, family members, guests, and personnel.
6. Follows all established policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure quality resident care.
7. Communicates, coordinates, and cooperates with other team members.
8. Maintains resident rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous housekeeping and/or laundry experience in long-term care preferred; positive attitude.
