Job summary

Avera Gettysburg Hospital in Gettysburg, SD is seeking a Regular Environmental Services Associate for a day shift to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment. Shifts run 6:00am to 2:30pm in patient rooms, offices, nurse stations, lounges, hallways, and lobby areas.

Responsibilities include dusting, washing, mopping, vacuuming, stocking supplies, and linen delivery. Strong teamwork and attention to detail support patient care and facility standards.

Qualifications

• Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Hearing and understanding speech and other sounds.

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working areas including patient rooms and common spaces.
• Participates in all cleaning activities: dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
• Keeps assigned areas stocked with supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, etc).
• Maintains stock on cleaning carts with wet and dry supplies.
• Upholds good customer relations at all times.
• May sort, wash, and deliver linens as needed.

A Brief Overview

Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse’s stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.

What you will do

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse’s stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
• Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.
• Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.
• Maintain good customer relations at all times.
• May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
