Job summary

Avera Gettysburg Hospital is seeking a dedicated environmental services worker for day shifts. You will maintain a clean environment in patient rooms, offices, lounges, and corridors, following safety guidelines and hospital policies.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and reliable service across multiple areas of the facility. Requirements include High School or GED, and 1-3 months related experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and neat environment in patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators and lobby areas.
• Participate in all cleaning activities including dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture and trash disposal.
• Keep cleaning carts stocked with supplies and maintain inventory of wet and dry supplies.
• Maintain good customer relations and assist with linen handling as needed.

A Brief Overview

Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.

What you will do

Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.

Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.

Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.

Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.

Maintain good customer relations at all times. May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens.

Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the hours specified.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience
