Qualifications

• High school diploma, trade school, or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year in housekeeping or janitorial.
• Ability to read, write, and follow directions.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Drug test and background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum and dust all plant areas.
• Clean windows and doors as needed to maintain cleanliness.
• Empty garbage and restrooms; stock paper goods.
• Operate large floor cleaning and buffing machines.
• Respond to customer requests and ensure satisfaction with Thompson Maintenance Services Division.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environment guidelines at all times.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Other duties as assigned.

BASIC SCOPE/PURPOSE

Responsible for maintaining all areas of the GE plant in a clean sanitary manner according to client requirements and does so in a safe and timely manner with the best quality possible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that all areas of the plant are cleaned by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting.
• May be required to clean windows and doors to maintain cleanliness.
• Empty garbage cans and may be required to empty large trash containers into dumpsters.
• Make sure that restrooms are cleaned including floors, toilets, sinks, partitions and trash receptacles.
• Also check and stock paper goods in restrooms.
• May be responsible for operating large floor cleaning and buffing machines.
• Respond to customer requests in a timely manner and is directly responsible for customer’s satisfaction with Thompson Maintenance Services Division.
• Must be able to perform responsibilities by following all Health, Safety and Environment guidelines as set forth by Thompson and our customer.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completed high school, trade school or GED and a minimum of 1 year experience working in the housekeeping or janitorial field.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand direction from foreman/leadman.
• Must be able to utilize basic math.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively, operate moving equipment and work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
• Candidate may be required to pass a drug test and Criminal background check based on job location/requirements.
