Job summary

Ebenezer's Vernon Terrace of Edina is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. The role includes a 64-hour biweekly schedule with a 9:00am-5:30pm shift, performing thorough cleaning, restocking supplies, and following safety protocols within a senior living community in Edina, MN.

The position requires less than 1 year of experience, HS diploma or GED preferred, and familiarity with software programs like Educare or TELS to complete

Qualifications

• Requires minimal prior housekeeping experience and ability to use software to perform tasks.
• Familiarity with cleaning schedules and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident and common areas as assigned.
• Vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust surfaces, sanitize bathrooms, clean windows.
• Follow cleaning schedules and safety procedures.
• Assist with light maintenance and report equipment or supply needs.
• Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively.

Job Overview

Vernon Terrace of Edina is located conveniently near public transportation stops and close to St. Louis Park, Hopkins, and Southwest Minneapolis. The Housekeeper provides a clean, safe and pleasant environment for residents, staff and visitors.

This schedule includes:

• 64 hours every two weeks ; full time
• 9:00am-5:30pm shift

Responsibilities

• Cleans resident and common areas of the community as assigned.
• Performs thorough cleaning of all assigned areas, including vacuums carpets, sweeps and mops hard floor surfaces, dusts and/or damp wipes surfaces, sanitizes bathrooms, cleans all glass windows/mirrors.
• Prioritizes tasks and completes within allotted time.
• Assists in cleaning emergency spills as needed.
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
• Follows cleaning schedule and instructions regarding specifications of resident's individualized housekeeping needs.
• Performs job duties safely, using correct body mechanics and personal protective equipment.
• Safely mixes chemicals according to instructions provided by the manufacturer
• Consistently follows safe body mechanics
• Demonstrates precautionary work practices for the safety of others in the work areas, such as electric cords, wet floor signs, etc.
• Completes all OSHA training modules in a timely manner.
• Maintains cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Maintains housekeeping cart and storage area on daily basis.
• Safeguards others' well-being by keeping chemicals and other hazardous materials locked when not in active use.
• Communicates supplies that need to be re-stocked.
• Communicates need for equipment repairs.
• Adheres to all Lockout/Tagout requirements per policy.
• Assists with light maintenance tasks as needed.
• Participates actively in team meetings, reports on current state in the Community, providing feedback on housekeeping-related items as they arise.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to utilize software programs in order to complete work functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 to 3 years of experience
• Experience utilizing software programs such as Educare or TELS in order to complete necessary job functions
