Job summary

Covina Court Senior Living in Covina, CA is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain clean, comfortable rooms for residents. Shifts are flexible with weekend work required, typically 8am–4pm, and a schedule that may include Friday through Monday.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient bedrooms and common areas, handling laundry, reporting issues to the Nurse Manager, and keeping the laundry area tidy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be able to work on weekends.
• Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant experience in a facility preferred.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with patients and visitors.
• Awareness of Health and Safety within a Nursing Home.
• Must know equipment and read labels to choose laundering methods.

Responsibilities

• Clean all rooms in their designated area including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
• Maintain the general cleaning rota and weekly tasks.
• Clean patients' bedrooms and private areas with discretion and privacy in mind.
• Report to the Nurse Manager any repeated problems needing attention.
• Ensure washing machines are emptied and left clean at the end of shift.
• Collect laundry from residents and areas and take to the laundry.
• Check items not suitable for laundry are removed and dry cleaned if agreed.
• Clean machines daily at end of shift and leave ready.
• Dry and return bed linen and towels to stores.
• Keep the laundry room/area clean and free of debris and odours.

• Check that items not suitable for laundry are removed and dry cleaned if patient in agreement

• Keep the laundry room/ area clean and tidy and free of debris and odours
