Job summary

Covina Court Senior Living is hiring a Housekeeper. The position involves cleaning rooms, maintaining the laundry and ensuring privacy for residents, with a flexible shift pattern including weekends.

Candidates should have a high school diploma (preferred), good English, and prior housekeeping or laundry experience in a care facility. A supportive team and growth opportunities are offered in a beautiful work environment.

Qualifications

• Weekend work required.
• Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant experience in a facility preferred.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with patients and visitors.
• An awareness of Health and Safety within the Nursing Home.
• Must read labels and know laundering methods.

Responsibilities

• Clean all rooms in their designated area including furniture, fittings, fabrics, carpets and equipment.
• Maintain the general cleaning rota and weekly tasks.
• Clean patients' bedrooms and private areas discreetly while respecting privacy.
• Report issues to the Nurse Manager as needed.
• Ensure washing machines are emptied and left clean at shift end.
• Collect laundry from residents and other areas and take to laundry.
• Check items not suitable for laundry and manage dry cleaning if agreed.
• Clean machines daily and leave them ready for use.
• Return bed linen and towels to stores and keep laundry areas tidy.

Responsibilities:

• Clean all rooms in their designated area including the furniture, fitting, fabric, carpets and equipment


• Maintain the general cleaning rota and weekly tasks


• Clean patients bedrooms and private areas e.g. en suite bathrooms as discreetly as possible and respecting their right to confidentiality and privacy


• Report to the Nurse Manager any particular repeated problems which may need addressed e.g. resident non-compliance


• Ensure that washing machines are emptied and left clean at the end of shift


• Collect laundry from the residents and other areas and take to the laundry


• Check that items not suitable for laundry are removed and dry cleaned if patient in agreement


• Clean the machines daily at the end of shift and leave ready
  
• Dry and return bed linen and towels to various stores throughout the Homes


• Keep the laundry room/ area clean and tidy and free of debris and odours

Qualifications:

• High school diploma preferred.


• Must be able to work on weekends.


• Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant experience in a facility preferred


• Good spoken and written English


• Good communication skills and ability to interact with patients and visitors


• An awareness of Health and Safety within the Nursing Home


• Must have the knowledge of the equipment and be able to quickly read labels and choose the most appropriate method of laundering.
