Job summary

Neosho-Memorial-Regional-Medical-Center in Chanute, KS seeks an Infection Prevention Technician to perform routine cleaning and supply duties across patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms and offices. The role contributes to hospital objectives and follows Environmental Services procedures.

Applicants should be prepared to follow all safety guidelines, adhere to precautions for hazardous chemicals, fluids, and medical waste, and may work varying hours including holidays and weekends

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous cleaning/infection prevention experience preferred but not required.
• No licenses or certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, daily cleaning and supplying patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms, offices, and other areas as assigned.
• Follow safety guidelines and hospital infection prevention procedures.
• Adhere to precautions regarding hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, medical waste and equipment.
• Perform other duties as requested; may work varying hours, holidays and weekends.

Job description

Performs routine, daily cleaning and supplying patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms, offices, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with hospital objectives. Follows all safety guidelines in accordance with any state-mandated rules and regulations. The Infection Prevention Technician will adhere to appropriate precautions and techniques in each department regarding hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, medical waste and/or equipment.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Is expected to work varying hours, holidays, and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) preferred.

• None

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous cleaning/infection prevention experience preferred but not required.
