Job summary

Alamance Health Care Center in Burlington, NC is seeking a qualified Housekeeper to join our team and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

You will clean patient rooms and common areas, restock supplies, and follow infection control guidelines, with responsibilities including safety, efficiency, and respectful resident interaction. Evening/weekend flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
• Understanding of proper chemical handling and safety procedures.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas according to established schedules and procedures.
• Dust, wipe, and disinfect furniture, fixtures, surfaces, and high-touch areas throughout the facility.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in assigned areas on a daily basis.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with facility policies and infection control standards.
• Clean and disinfect resident bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and floors.
• Restock paper products, soap, and other supplies in resident rooms and common areas as needed.
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals and solutions safely and according to manufacturer guidelines and OSHA standards.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and supply closets in a clean and organized manner.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.
• Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and special cleaning requests throughout the facility.
• Follow all facility policies regarding infection control, bloodborne pathogens, and hazardous waste disposal.
• Interact with residents, families, and staff in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
