Job summary

AKAM in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the high-rise condominium’s common areas, inside and outdoors, including lobby, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and pool area. This role supports residents and guests with timely, safe cleaning and may assist on special projects.

The position is full-time, on-site, with a 7:00 am to 3:30 pm schedule, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain lobby, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and shared spaces.
• Clean restrooms, locker rooms, and fitness areas; replenish toiletries and supplies.
• Collect trash/recycling and ensure bins and chutes are organized for pickup.
• Sanitize elevator interiors, doors, and lobby areas; maintain a neat welcoming entrance.
• Assist with periodic deep cleaning and seasonal outdoor tasks.
• Assist residents with housekeeping requests and respond to urgent cleaning needs.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies; notify supervisor when replenishment is needed.

Position Overview

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the high-rise condominium’s common areas. This role ensures that the building is kept in pristine condition, providing a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for residents and guests. The Housekeeper will also assist with occasional special projects, such as deep cleaning or seasonal tasks. This role will be performed inside and outdoors.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning Common Areas:
  • Regularly clean and maintain the lobby, hallways, elevators, stairwells, & shared spaces.
  • Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish floors, surfaces, and fixtures to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Clean glass surfaces, such as windows and mirrors, to maintain a polished appearance
• Restroom and Locker Room Maintenance:
  • Regularly check and clean bathroom fixtures, sinks, and floors, and replenish toiletries as needed.
  • Ensure all restrooms, locker rooms, and fitness center facilities are cleaned, restocked with supplies, and sanitized throughout the day.
• Trash and Recycling:
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from common areas and ensure that garbage chutes and waste rooms are clean and orderly.
  • Maintain cleanliness of trash and recycling bins and ensure that they are properly organized for scheduled pick-ups.
• Elevator and Lobby Maintenance:
  • Clean and sanitize elevator interiors, doors, and call buttons.
  • Ensure the lobby area is neat, tidy, and welcoming at all times, including dusting furniture and cleaning entranceways.
• Special Cleaning Projects:
  • Assist with periodic deep cleaning tasks, such as carpet shampooing, window washing, and polishing floors.
  • Support seasonal tasks such as cleaning outdoor spaces, removing snow or debris, or preparing the building for special events or holidays.
• Resident Assistance:
  • Assist residents with small housekeeping requests, such as cleaning up spills in common areas or helping carry packages when needed.
  • Respond promptly to requests from the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor for urgent cleaning needs.
• Supplies and Inventory:
  • Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that they are properly stocked and stored.
  • Notify the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager when supplies need replenishing or equipment requires maintenance.
• Safety and Sanitation:
  • Follow all safety protocols; proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ensure that cleaning procedures meet health and sanitation guidelines, particularly in high-traffic or sensitive areas like restrooms and fitness centers.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  • At least 1-2 years of housekeeping or custodial experience, preferably in a residential or hospitality setting.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment, tools, and products, as well as their proper usage and safety guidelines.
• Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently & manage time efficiently to complete tasks.
  • Good communication to interact professionally with residents, guests, & staff.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, walking and standing for extended periods.
  • Requires daily walks outside in the heat, rain, and sun
  • Must be able to lift and move cleaning supplies and equipment, as well as handle tasks like mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
  • Cleaning restrooms, common areas, pool area, stairs, hallways.
  • Requires some groundskeeping (no landscaping), but to pick up debris, maintain green areas.
• Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
