Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of common areas and vacant apartments within an apartment building complex. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a clean, welcoming, and sanitary environment for tenants, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and takes pride in their work.

Key Responsibilities
1. Common Area Maintenance
  • Clean and sanitize lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, laundry rooms, and other shared spaces.
  • Vacuum carpets, sweep, mop, and polish floors as required.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins in common areas and replace liners as needed.
  • Wipe down surfaces, including railings, mailboxes, and windows.
  • Clean glass doors and windows to ensure they are free of smudges and streaks.
2. Apartment Turnover Cleaning
  • Perform deep cleaning of vacant apartments to prepare them for new residents.
  • Clean bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas, including sanitizing surfaces, cleaning appliances, and scrubbing floors.
  • Remove any leftover items and debris from previous tenants.
  • Ensure the apartment is move-in ready and up to company standards.
3. Light Maintenance Tasks
  • Report any maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, leaks, or other damage) to the property manager or maintenance team.
  • Restock common area supplies such as soap, paper towels, and other essentials.
4. Outdoor Cleaning
  • Sweep and clean entryways, walkways, and other exterior areas.
  • Remove litter and debris from around the property, including parking lots and landscaped areas.
5. Safety and Compliance
  • Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely and in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Follow all company policies, including health and safety regulations.
  • Comply with chemical usage and storage policies as required by local and state regulations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial work, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to work independently, pay attention to detail, and manage time effectively.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs, stand and walk for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Language Skills: Basic understanding of English to follow instructions, safety guidelines, and communicate with residents as needed.
Work Schedule:

This position typically requires weekday shifts with occasional weekend work as needed. Some flexibility in schedule may be required based on the needs of the property.
