Job summary

Stjohnsofalbertlea is seeking a Part-time Housekeeper for 13 hours per week, with a daily shift from 8:00am to 3:00pm. The role includes cleaning private rooms, bathrooms, and public areas, using various cleaning methods and chemicals, and working as part of a team to ensure a comfortable living environment for residents.

Responsibilities

• General and deep cleaning of private rooms, bathrooms, closets, chapel, offices, stairwells, elevators, entryways, dining/kitchen areas, and public areas.
• Floor, window treatment, and furniture care using a variety of methods/equipment.
• Emptying and removing garbage in resident rooms and public areas.
• Reporting any disrepair of building, equipment or furnishings.
• Assist other EVS employees when needed; may involve lifting furniture.
• Follow safety plans and attend mandatory in-services.
• All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Able to follow directions and instructions.
• Have a desire to help residents have a comfortable and clean area to live.

• Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. necessary for reading the SDS information regarding chemicals, record keeping and to be able to communicate with residents and staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS:

In this position you must have the ability to clean rooms, bathrooms, and public areas using a variety of equipment and chemicals. You must have the ability to work together with coworkers and other departments in a team atmosphere. Must enjoy working with elders and people with disabilities in a helpful, cheerful manner.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• General and Deep cleaning of private rooms, bathrooms, closets, chapel, offices, stairwells, elevators, entryways, dining/kitchen areas, and public areas.
• Floor, window treatment, and furniture care using a variety of methods/equipment.
• Emptying and removing garbage in resident rooms and public areas.

• Assist other EVS employees when it takes more than one person to get the task done, this may include lifting furniture.
• Follow AWAIR safety plan, always, using proper body mechanics.
• Attend mandatory in-services.
• All other duties as assigned.
