Job summary

Echelon Care & Rehab Center in Voorhees Township, NJ is seeking a Housekeeping Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary environment and support resident welfare. You will help keep all areas odor-free and assist with room changes in coordination with department heads.

The role offers full-time/part-time and per diem schedules with benefits including health, life and disability insurance, a 401(k), holiday pay and paid time off. High school diploma preferred; English literacy required.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• Must read, write and understand the English language.
• Experience in housekeeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows specific cleaning and service instructions as outlined by the Director of Environmental Services.
• Follows cleaning procedures in a safe manner.
• Completes all assignments scheduled in each unit.
• Maintains a sanitary, odor-free, orderly environment for all concerns.
• Checks stock and notifies supervisor of supply needs.
• Maintains equipment in good working condition and returns it after use.
• Assists with room changes as needed.
• Ensures residents receive high-quality service in a caring atmosphere.
• Performs other duties as requested.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Aide insures that the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition at all times to provide for care and welfare of the residents in a healthful environment. In addition, he/she insures that good housekeeping services are performed in every department of the facility and are planned in cooperation with the department head.

RESPONSIBILITLES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. 1 Follows specific cleaning and service instructions as outlined by the Director of Environmental Services;
2. 2 Follows cleaning procedures in a safe manner;
3. 3 Completes all assignments scheduled in each unit;
4. 4 Gives an assigned unit the attention needed to provide a sanitary, odor free, orderly environment for all concerns;
5. 5 Checks stock and notifies supervisor of supply needs;
6. 6 Maintains equipment in good working condition and returns it to proper location after use;
7. 7 Assists with room changes, as needed;
8. 8 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
9. 9 Performs other duties as requested.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/ VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

1. 1 High school degree or equivalent is preferred.
2. 2 Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.

JOB SKILLS

1. 1 Good physical condition.
2. 2 Working knowledge of standard materials.
3. 3 Knowledge of techniques and equipment used in cleaning activities.
4. 4 Knowledge of cleaning materials and reasons for their use.
5. 5 Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
6. 6 Ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the outside public.
7. 7 Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test.

PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES

1. 1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.
2. 2 Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.
