Job summary

Metropolitan Behavioral Health, a UHS facility in Dearborn, MI, seeks an experienced House Supervisor (RN) for per diem night coverage. Work from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. on the psychiatric unit, ensuring coordinated delivery of care and adherence to standards.

You will supervise the nursing staff, liaise with Intake and Admissions on admissions, discharges and transfers, and support performance improvement efforts within the hospital.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing or BSN required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility.
• Licensed to practice by the MI State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification required.
• Understanding of The Joint Commission, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
• Available for weekend and holiday coverage.

A growing 144-bed behavioral health facility – Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues are offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. The facility provides a robust outpatient program utilizing a combination of group, family and individual therapy.

Position Summary

The House Supervisor (RN) is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, educational and performance improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff. The House Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of the nursing staff, patients, and patient care during their shift. The House Supervisor will work closely with the Intake and Admissions Department regarding patient admissions, discharges, and transfers during their shift.

Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the MI State Board of Nursing

This per diem night shift position will also assist with weekend and holiday coverage.
