Responsibilities

• Maintain all conveyors, cross collections, baffle systems, belts, drive chains, gear boxes, etc.
• Work closely with supervisor and coworkers in all departments.
• Perform collection and disposal of dead birds, trash pickup and fly control.
• Include mill maintenance, outside maintenance, mowing and landscaping as needed.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc., located in Bloomfield, Nebraska, is one of our only cage free facilities. The facility is located three miles outside of Northeast Nebraska's busiest community. Bloomfield is a haven for those who prefer small-town life over city living and is located less than 30 miles from recreation areas where you can enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking and camping. Our location produces liquid egg product that is sent to our other facilities for further processing.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.

Experience

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Licenses, certificates, registrations

• Valid Drivers License

• Class A CDL License preferred

Other skills and abilities

• Free of any breathing problems or asthmatic conditions, dusty and aromatic conditions prevail.

• Must be able to work at various heights, ex. top of feed mill.

• Must have welding and cutting torch knowledge.

• Ability to read and understand oral and written instruction.

• Have good mechanical knowledge.

• Be able to work outside normal work hours when needed.

• Must have a valid drivers license

• Have or be able to obtain a Nebraska Class A CDL License.

• Must meet all DOT driving requirements.

• Ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds
