American Crystal Sugar Company in East Grand Forks, MN, seeks a House Mechanic to perform millwright duties, maintenance, and basic fabrication in the process plant. Starting pay is $35.03/hr with progression to $39.56/hr, and day-one medical, dental, pension and 401(k) benefits are offered.
Candidates must have a 2-year technical degree or millwright apprenticeship, or a high school diploma with 5 years of experience.

The House Mechanic will perform a wide variety of duties and tasks associated with the mechanical (millwright) discipline. These duties and tasks include a multitude of maintenance interventions ranging from basic parts replacements to equipment refurbishment to optimizing equipment performance to advanced troubleshooting.
The principle accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Individuals will be required to understand the operating principles of this equipment and its role in the process/factory. Mechanics are expected to understand equipment function and application to the extent that equipment performance can be optimized. Individuals will work closely with Production gaining a detailed understanding of operating parameters to ensure that Maintenance interventions are both appropriate and effective.
Perform a variety of joining and fabrication activities. To that extent, individuals will weld, cut, braze, and solder a variety of materials. This includes welding carbon steel using the SMAW and GMAW processes and welding stainless steel metals using the SMAW process.
