Job summary

First Resources Corp. is seeking a full-time House Manager in Centerville, IA to oversee a group home for adults with intellectual disabilities and chronic mental illness.

You will supervise Direct Support Professionals, ensure safety and program fidelity, and coach staff toward individualized PCSP goals. The role offers a stable schedule with a 2:50pm-12am shift Mon Tue Thu and alternating weekends, plus opportunities to contribute to daily living activities, documentation, and community

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Must possess basic knowledge of the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) program.
• Must possess basic knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
• Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries.
• Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions.
• Successfully complete all new hire orientation checklist.
• Satisfactory attend all required trainings by agency.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company’s insurance.
• Ability to travel at least 25% of the time and to work occasional evenings and weekends for meetings and/or events.
• Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the initial 30 days of employment, and actively maintain certification throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living, personal care, laundry, housekeeping, appointments, shopping, and community activities, including transportation.
• Follow each resident's PCSP and document progress toward their goals.
• Plan menus and groceries, and run a weekly system for household tasks and cleanliness.
• Help residents with money management and ensure medications are given correctly and recorded on MAR.
• Schedule and attend medical and mental health appointments, and document each one.
• Mentor and train new Direct Support Professionals at your home.
• Keep health logs, incident reports, and monthly paperwork complete and on time.
• Respond calmly to emergencies, including behavior and medical situations and evacuations, using non-aversive support techniques.
• Stay in regular contact with your supervisor and coordinator about resident care and the condition of the home.
• Welcome guardians, family members, and visitors, and protect resident rights and confidentiality.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 2:50pm-12am and every other weekend 8am-8pm.

First Resources Corp is hiring a full-time House Manager for one of our Centerville homes, where adults with intellectual disabilities and chronic mental illness live. You'll keep the home safe and well run, help each client work toward the goals in their Person Centered Service Plan (PCSP), and mentor the Direct Support Professionals who work with you. You'll have a steady schedule and a supervisor who stays in close contact.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 2:50pm-12am and every other weekend 8am-8pm
• No regular nights or weekends
• Occasional shift coverage may be needed when a team member is out

What you'll do

• Support residents with daily living, personal care, laundry, housekeeping, appointments, shopping, and community activities, including transportation
• Follow each resident's PCSP and document progress toward their goals
• Plan menus and groceries, and run a weekly system for household tasks and cleanliness
• Help residents with money management and make sure medications are given correctly and recorded on the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
• Schedule and attend medical and mental health appointments, and document each one

• Respond calmly to emergencies, including behavior and medical situations and evacuations, using only non-aversive support techniques
• Stay in regular contact with your supervisor and coordinator about resident care and the condition of the home
• Welcome guardians, family members, and visitors, and protect resident rights and confidentiality

What you'll bring

• Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort with email and Microsoft Office
• Good organization and time management skills
• Willingness to be trained in personal care, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• The ability to pass background checks
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Prior experience in direct support, disability services, or leadership: preferred

Pay: $13.50 to $16.50 per hour.
