First Resources Corp is seeking a Direct Support Professional (Community Supports) in Ottumwa, IA. This part-time role provides hourly in-home and community supports to adults with disabilities, about 28 hours per week, daytime and early evening, with no overnights or regular weekends.

You will perform meal prep, errands, skill building, and recreation; assist with personal care; maintain visit notes and coordinate with supervisor on schedule changes.

Qualifications

Direct Support Professional (Community Supports)

City: Ottumwa, IA · Type: Part-time · Openings: 1 · Pay field: $13 to $16 per hour

Support adults with disabilities one-on-one in their homes and around Ottumwa, on a weekday schedule built around the people you serve. This part-time role averages about 28 hours a week, mostly daytime and early evening, with no overnights and no regular weekends. You'll work with a small group of individuals, so you'll know them well and see real progress. We are working to combine split shifts into longer blocks for those interested in a Full-time opportunity.

Typical week

• Monday: morning through early afternoon, plus a late-afternoon block
• Tuesday: midday hours, with a few evenings a month (5 to 8 p.m.)
• Wednesday: a long day from morning into early evening
• Thursday: afternoon and early evening
• Friday: afternoon

What you'll do

Qualifications/Requirements

• High school education or equivalent; experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Must possess bask knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
• Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries.
• Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions.
• Successfully complete all new hire orientation checklist.
• Satisfactory attend all required trainings by agency.
• Successfully complete the established medication administration training and observe pass medications accordingly.
• Must have access to a telephone.
• Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company’s insurance.
